What a wonderful time we all had at Paducah! We left Richmond on Tuesday morning headed to the big quilt show in Paducah. First stop was Niemerg’s Restaurant in Effingham,IL. What an awesome place to eat! Great salad bar and wonderful food. Once we had our bellies full we went to the Wooden Spool, Unraveled, (which had been featured in the Better Home & Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine), and last but not least Your Quilting Stash quilt store out in the country. That was an interesting trip in itself taking a large bus down those country roads!
Day two on to Paducah. While we were waiting to get into the exhibit hall they even had a marching band! So many new items. So many booths of everything. What an adventure.
Day three HANCOCK’S Fabric! WOW! Several buses and small isles. Crazy but good. Then back to the expo to get what we missed the day before. We were on our own for lunch and went into town and had a lovely lunch outside on a quaint patio. Food was great. Some of us walked back along the Ohio River and enjoyed the river walk murals.
Day four on our way home tired and poor, we hit 3 more quilt stores, Let’s Sew, Village Mercantile, and The Stitching Post. Lovely stores and people. If you are in Boonville, IN eat at the little bakery down from the Mercantile. The food was great and the workers were so special. One of our quilters was not feeling well and one of the workers went to the drugstore for her because it was too far to walk. You don’t get that everywhere!!
I quess that about tells it all. Next year I’m thinking about Holmes County Ohio for 3 days and 2 nights. What do you think?
